Biography

The reason I am pursuing a career in engineering and academia is to make a positive impact on the world. I completed my BASc in Mechanical Engineering at UBC Okanagan in 2023. Within engineering, I have a passion for projects that centre around sustainability, manufacturing and material science. During my undergraduate studies, I worked on a research project that aimed to identify biomass waste material that exhibited a high composition of pure carbon. Furthermore, I also completed research outside of engineering in Human-Animal Interactions on the topic of gender-based differences in stress reduction of university students attending canine-assisted intervention therapy. I joined CRN – Okanagan Laboratory in May 2023 to pursue my MASc under the supervision of Dr. Milani to explore my passion and contribute to sustainability and material science research.

When I’m not conducting research, I engage in STEM outreach programming through UBC Geering Up to demonstrate how enjoyable, exciting, and valuable engineering and science can be to elementary and high school students.
