Biography

I am a Ph.D. student of Mechanical Engineering at the University of British Columbia, focusing on the value-recovery of recycled plastics in Canada. I have received my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Polymer Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology. After graduation, I have worked both as an R&D member in the industry (Polyurethane foam) and as a research assistant in the academy (Anti-corrosion organic coatings) for 3 years. As a result, I have acquired knowledge of materials development, polymer processing, and materials characterization in the academy and industry. In addition, my polymer engineering and nanomaterials synthesis background help me convert plastic wastes collected by the leading industrial partners into value-added polymer composites. I am collaborating with both research groups at Composites Research Network (CRN) and Nanomaterials and Polymer Nanocomposites Laboratory (NPNL) under co-supervision of Dr. Abbas Milani and Dr. Mohammad Arjmand.
